Sarah is your Labour and Co-operative Parliamentary Candidate for South Swindon constituency. She is a retired Army officer and lives in West Swindon with her husband and three daughters. She stood in the 2017 General Election, receiving 22, 345 votes and more than halving the incumbent MP’s majority. Sarah has been re-selected by more than 90% of the local Labour Party to be your candidate again.
Sarah is a strong believer in community and social responsibility. Since leaving the Army, she has campaigned for public services both locally and nationally, and is guided by a conviction that everyone is entitled to a good education, comprehensive healthcare free at the point of use, secure and habitable housing and social security in times of hardship.
Sarah is very active in Swindon as a volunteer and campaigner. She is a governor in Further Education, and has also served as a primary school governor. She is a Trustee of the Law Centre and also joined the Old Town Festival Committee as the Chair in 2018. Sarah is a Volunteer Caseworker and Information Volunteer with the Royal British Legion, regularly assisting veterans and their families who require support in the Swindon area.
