Since the EU referendum result in 2016, Sarah has been monitoring what Brexit means for Swindon very closely. Confusion, arbitrary red lines and the shambolic negotiations led by the Conservative government have left us facing a stark choice between a withdrawal agreement with no guarantees to preserve the union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or a ‘no-deal’ Brexit that threatens to topple our economy and make the impacts of austerity even worse for people in Swindon. For these reasons, Sarah backs the Labour Party position of a confirmatory referendum on any deal agreed with the EU, with the plain facts of the real choice available to all voters.
